Anhel was born in November 2005 in Igualada. The workshop and the boutique share a single space, creating a very special atmosphere. It focuses on contemporary jewelry—pieces full of design and creativity where, through a contemporary lens, objects receive a new form and function, thus acquiring a new identity.

A Little Bit of History
Since the most ancient civilizations, humanity has felt the need to decorate itself. The discovery of shells in the Blombos Cave in present-day South Africa proves that as far back as 75,000 years ago, humans sought to adorn their bodies with elements external to their own nature.
According to archaeologists and historians, this finding represents the oldest evidence of human symbolic thought. In fact, the human species has always had an almost instinctive desire to adorn itself, and through jewelry, has sought to explain, signify, and convey many things. Jewelry pieces always enjoy a long lifespan; they can be passed down from parents to children from generation to generation, pairing the inherent value of the materials with a deep sentimental worth. A jewel is far more than the "precious item" defined by the dictionary.
Today, a jewel is a portable, small-scale object for individual use, generally crafted from noble metals to which gemstones, enamels, paints, as well as other organic and inorganic materials can be added.
